It is beautifully kept place to stay in Half-moon Bay, in my opinion. The breakfast is gorgeous, the room is spacious and adequate with windows to the garden all around the house. They offer central heating, coffee/tea making equipment, and a seating area.

The breakfast was absolutely fantastic with ingredients from Raylene's garden and had plenty of food. Unbeatable location just next door to a beautiful island and the two primary bays, I felt safe.

We had a fantastic stay at this bed and breakfast. the location was perfect, just a short walk into town where we could easily find places to eat. the room we stayed in was lovely, with beautiful views of the gardens and forest. the bathroom was sparkling clean and had all the necessary amenities. the host, Ray, was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. the breakfast spread was delicious, with a variety of options to choose from. the atmosphere and service were top-notch.

We had the privilege of staying at Glendaruel and it truly felt like a home away from home. The location, nestled uphill from town, provided the perfect balance of tranquility and accessibility. The house itself was warm, cosy, and impeccably clean. Raylene, our host, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. From providing warm water and complimentary cookies in our rooms to offering helpful tips and assisting with activity arrangements, her hospitality was exceptional. The birdwatching opportunities were also a highlight, with Tui birds and Kaka parrots filling the trees with their joyful songs. our stay at Glendaruel was nothing short of paradise on Earth. Highly recommended.

Glendaruel is a hidden gem for bird lovers. The hospitality by host Raylene is unmatched. The B&B is conveniently located near town and Golden Bay, offering both tranquility and convenience. The rooms are small but cozy, with all necessary amenities. Raylene goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay, even offering her car for dinner outings. Breakfast exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for a memorable and enjoyable stay on Stewart Island.

I had the most amazing stay at Glendaruel . The location was perfect, with stunning views over the valley and just a short walk to Golden Bay where the boat tours depart from. The breakfast exceeded my expectations and the host went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and enjoyment throughout my visit. I even had the opportunity to see native birds up close in the nearby valley - a birdwatcher's delight! The private and peaceful setting of the house was a sanctuary of sorts. I highly recommend staying at this wonderful bed and breakfast.
